Really Simple Faro – Card Mini Game

Tabletop faro, a card game you’ve probably never heard about…

INTRODUCTION
Simple faro you can play at the nearest inn.

FEATURES
Smooth faro gameplay from a tabletop perspective.
Original and Blacklight version.
Check casekeep (device used to count cards).
Check your current bets.
‘Call the turn’ bet, guess the order of the last three cards and get paid 4:1.
Dynamic addition/removal of AI players, who also react to their actions.
Unobtrusive configuration system.
Selectable decks (out of 4 decks):
Default
Birth signs
Fantasy
The Witcher (NSFW)

REQUIREMENTS
None.

GUIDELINES
(ORIGINAL)
Dealer draws two cards; the losing card and the winning card.
Bets placed on the the losing card; lose. Bets placed on the winning card; win.
A “high card” bet wins if the winning card has a higher value than the losing card
You can choose what to do with bets that neither won nor lost with “Aftermath: Leave” and “Aftermath: Pickup”.
Win is paid 1:1.

GUIDELINES
(BLACKLIGHT)
Dealer draws only one card, if you’ve placed a bet on that card you win. All other bets lose.
You can’t bet on the high card.
There is no casekeep.
Win is paid 12:1.

KNOWN ISSUES
Issue: You don’t see the dialogue to play.
Solution: Exit, then re-enter the inn.

Issue: Subtitles are sometimes stuck on screen.
Solution: Next time any actor speaks, the game will remove the subtitle.
Possible solution (didn’t test): Disable, then enable subtitles in the game options.

POSSIBLE QUESTIONS
Question: I like to use papyrus logging to check mods I install. Is there anything I should be worried about?
Answer: If you encounter these errors report IMMEDIATELY:

“Cannot access an element of a None array”
“Array index X is out of range (0-Y)”

Question: Is this script heavy?
Answer: Not really. It uses OnStoryChangeLocation story manager event.

Question: Are there compatibility issues?
Answer: No. I didn’t edit any of the existing cells or forms.

Question: Why is there a skooma pipe on the table?
Answer: I really liked its design and I had to put it in.
