I really like the Lunar Forge. It’s a small piece of lore with a book detailing someone’s incomplete research on the matter, and some unique weapons. I love that its just there. It’s not important to a prophecy, they aren’t part of a big questline. They *just* *there*. To me this kind of thing makes the world feel a little bit more real, they are those things and misteries that simply exist.
That said I never liked the details how the forge was implemented. For starters the weapon don’t do what they supposed to. One could blame the researcher by mistaking “fire” for “drain like a vampire” but c’mon! And I also love the idea that those ancient nords used these ancient forges like its sister, the Skyforge, to create superior, unique weapons, so not being able to craft these Lunar Weapons was a bummer. I’ve seem some mods adressing those problems, but not in an immersive way I wanted, and specially none for Requiem.
So I changed those things. Since this is supposed to be Immersive (hence the title) the recipes aren’t just there for you to apply the enchant on any weapon. No, these are ancient nord secrets that you need to uncover. You may follow the previous researcher’s notes and maybe it can point you to the right direction, but (unless you cheat) you’ll have to research and experiment. Or just grab the ones already there and call it a day because, just like the bandits there, researching isn’t for your char. But what if the forge could give you even more?

2. CONTENTS

-Adds an immersive way to create Lunar Weapons at the Lunar Forge on Silent Moons Camp.
-Expands the book Notes on the Lunar Forge with additional research by the previous researcher. Poor guy, he was doing so well.
-Changes the enchantment to properly drain health as the good book says it does.
-The Lunar Weapons are somewhat unique in their enchantment. Besides only working from 21-05, it also grows stronger as the moons dance in the sky and the night passes, reaching its apex around 1am, before slowly becoming weaker until it fades away close to sunrise. The enchantment also doesn’t require charges, further indicating that these weapons were not made in the “typical” (enchanted by a wizard) way.
-The weapons are disenchantable, but the enchantment carries none of the weapon’s unique properties. Sorry, no proper daedric lunar weapons here.
-Recipes for Lunar versions of all nord weapons. Vanilla misses nordic maces and warhammers, so no luck here.
-Replaces vanilla lunar weapons with this mod’s. My idea is that these are ancient nord secrets, not some freshly smithed iron or steel weapons.
-Maybe extra content when you are a “skilled blacksmith well versed in the ways of the ancient nord”?

3. INSTALLATION

This mod comes in two versions:
Requiem: The Full version. I play requiem only so the full immersive experience of the mod is possible only to requiem players. It doesn’t requires CCOR but the recipes are similar to CCOR’s nordic gear.
No Requiem: The compatibility version. Has everything, really. It might be a bit harder to unlock the true potential of the forge. Come back once you’ve done so “somewhere”. Wink wink.

4. TO-DO LIST

1 – As finishing touch of immersion I’d like to create a script to enable the recipes only after you read the mod’s related book. I just have to add a Global X = 1 requisite to the recipes, and a script to change this global from 0 to 1 once you open the book. That said I don’t know much about scripts, and I have no idea how to properly “spell” this one, so if anyone knows how tell me by PM. You’ll be credited and I’ll make you some BBQ Ribs if you ever come to visit.
