Improved Potion Animation
An improved and expanded version of manaflow’s “Potions Animated”, this mod plays a short animation whenever you drink a potion or beverage. It’s far more believable than quaffing potions instantly. Improvements over the original include the following:
– The 1st-person and 3rd-person animations now take the same amount of time (just under four seconds).
– Drinking no longer forces you out of the inventory, but rather queues animations to play when you return to normal gameplay.
– The weapon on your back can no longer become visible during the 1st-person animation.
– The animation is played not only for potions, but for beverages as well. (You can disable animations for beverages with the console command “set AnimateBeverages to 0” and re-enable it with “set AnimateBeverages to 1”.)
– The mod has been tested, and bugs have been fixed, for as many different contingencies as possible (e.g. drinking while riding, drinking while looting, drinking while ragdolling–not that responsible adults do any of those things).
This mod does make Alchemy somewhat less useful compared to Restoration. I’ve implemented fixes for this in a separate “Alchemy Refinements” mod (https://www.skyrimodding.com/alchemy-refinements/).
