Khajiit Caravans fence for fellow Khajiit (AKA One Of Us)
If you are a Khajiit, then the three vanilla caravans will fence stolen items for you.
Small description – “If you are a Khajiit, then the three vanilla caravans will fence stolen items for you.”
Why does this mod exist? – In the vanilla game, the Khajiit will fence for a member of the Thieves Guild, no matter the race, after the completion of a certain quest. Clearly they don’t think fencing is below them, morally. It didn’t make much sense to me, therefore, that they would not fence for their fellow Khajiit. In addition, I use a mod called Thieves Guild Requirements, which would otherwise block access to all fences. This offers a lore friendly way for a budding thief to practice before joining the guild.
What is this mod compatible with? – In theory, it is compatible with everything. There are a few exceptions:
-Soft Incompatibility- (Confusing/Immersion-breaking results. Both mods retain functionality if one takes proper precautions.)
Any mod that could cause any other merchants to be standing near the Khajiit Caravans. Any mod which alters the distance at which you can speak to NPCs. (Reason explained below.)
—Please report any and all incompatibilities to me.—
—If you use the mod and are mostly sure that it is compatible with your load order, feel free to PM me your load order (or a link to it). If people do this, then I will compile a more comprehensive list of compatible mods than I ever could on my own.—
How was this mod made? – In the Creation Kit. For the curious, I wrote a script that adds an ability to both the Khajiit and Khajiit Vampire races. Under certain conditions, it would add a replica of the “fence” perk to the player character (all perk/skill requirements on duplicate have been removed, vanilla perk unchanged). The conditions are that the PC is a Khajiit and is within 200 units of one of the three Khajiit traders. For reference, 64 units is 3 ft.
Need help? – While I am more than willing to assist in any way that I can, know that I use Mod Organizer (v1.2.17 at the time of this posting). If you need help using Nexus Mod Manager, my assistance will be limited to my memory of the tool for Skyrim, and my more recent memory of the tool for Morrowind.
Future plans? – Unless compatibility issues come up. I don’t think anything is left to be done. I’ll probably move on to other mods.
