The Art of Smithing
Master the Art of Smithing and learn how to forge numerous armors and weapons !
As you wander around Skyrim, you find tons of armors. As a true blacksmith, you’ll be able to replicate those, and if you commit enought to your Art, you’ll even learn how to surpass the original designs !
Description:
The Art of Smithing aims to give you more choice regarding the gear you’ll use through your game.
To do so, most faction weapons and armors are made craftable, but that’s
not all: with the exception of the College of Winterhold (obviously),
you’ll be able to forge new versions of your factions gear, suited for lategame. This without overloading the smithing menu.
Keep in mind this mod is about rewarding your hard work, not punishing it with another hard work to smith your stuff.
Please note this mod isn’t completely finished, more is to come. Don’t hesitate to leave comments and/or suggestions.
Why this mod?
It’s been a long time since I started Skyrim. My first game, I made a point
to complete all faction quests, get all those achievements and it was
fun.
However, the following playthroughs, I rarely completed these factions quest because I knew the “rewards” the game could give me were
just useless, most of the time. I then turned to mods, but nothing truly
suited me on this regard. So I thought of making my own mod.
You will be able to craft the weapons and armor of the faction you joined.
With enough commitment to BOTH your faction AND your smithing skills,
you’ll be able to improve the way you smith some of those weapons and
armors. I first wanted to give a full out detailed description, but I’ll
let you discover for yourself. I’ll just give you an apetizer:
After joining the Dark Brotherhood, you’ll be able to craft both the Shrouded Armor (if you have the right perk) and the Robes.
Then, after you have complete a specific quest, you will be able to craft the
Ancient Shrouded Armor, instead of the Shrouded Armor.
(Note this wil not replace the armors already crafted, only the recipe will be replaced)
This is to give each player the full choice of what to wear, what to use in
the lategame. Now, you’ll be able to be a full on assassin, Blades
member, Thief, … I didn’t alter any enchanted item, just duplicated
them. Unenchanted items have been changed a little though.
