Thoom LE

Thoom is an immersive mod that attempts to add more shouts to Skyrim. Word walls have been distributed across the province and each provides a unique shouts that were previously unattainable in the base game or have appeared in elder scrolls media.

Learning the Shouts
Just like with regular word walls, single words of power have been placed in graffitied spots around Skyrim similar to the word wall in the Forgotten Vale. You should passively receive quests to find these shouts from both the “Letters from a friend” and the greybeards “The Words of Power” quests respectively.

(Please note that having a word from one shout will not give it to you automatically for another, just like how having Ven Gar Nos doesn’t give you Ven Mul Riik. It’s about understanding the context of the word in regards to the shout itself.)

FAQ
Q: Why isn’t the Open shout working?
A: You need to save and reload the game to initialize it.

Q: Do I need to start a new game for this?
A: Yes, preferably anyways. If you’ve beaten Miraak and Alduin; the respective shouts your unlock will be unattainable without console commands.

Q: Where can I find these word walls?
A: Across Skyrim, I’ve added location names to spoilers on the mod page. It will also be listed in here.

Q: Can I help?
A: Absolutely! Currently the mod would benefit from any community input with the audio splicing. Please submit your spliced audio files to WiP for review if you’re interested. This mod also needs more extensive bug testing, so please try and break it and let me know how you did it.

What needs to be done?
The voices for FEventoned/FElvenHaughtey and MEventoned/MArgonian are complete the rest are in various states of assembly. I will be working on the shout words for the remaining races and fixing the current ones that feel off afterwards.

First and Foremost the list of voices that still need to be completed are as follows…

Compatibility
This mod should be compatible out of the box with most mods though not everything may be affected by custom perks (The Soul Cairn Summon for example), possible conflict with anything that messes with Bend Will shout but that remains to be seen.

Will update with incompatibilities as they are reported and investigated.

Bugs
The Open shout will not function before reloading your game for the first time.

The Open shout will have difficulties during script heavy events like the meteor shout.

Greybeard gate not working randomly is specifically designed for a script for Borri to use Bex, then it shifts the door activator to the ground in front of him in the base game. This is a feature that’s in vanilla Skyrim.

Because of script reuse and referencing, any sky shouts will have the same issues as storm call.

Base game issue involving ice field damaging players and friendlies is entirely a base game issue involving hazards.
